I have six prints and thought you might be of help in obtaining information on
them. The six prints I have come from the Janapese wood block prints "The 47
Fathfull Retainers" or "Ronan". The term means "leaderless warrior" and the
series is the story of the retainers who, after the death of the leader,
avenge the death. There are 50+ prints in the entire series, even though the
title states "47". The original publication, I think, was 1848 and my six
prints are from the original blocks, but, I was told, from a later striking so
the images are no pristine but "good condition". I found your web page and
thought you might be able to help let me know where I can get a current value
as you have a knowledge of Japanese prints.
Thanks very much.
