Many years ago (1976) I published a copy of the Musee Guimet (Paris) version of this print in 'Japanese Prints 1700 to 1900' [Phaidon Press]. Although now out of print a large number were distributed both in Europe and the US and you might be able to find a copy. The book was part of a 'large art paperback' series reproducing the prints at full size and it was intended that the illustrations could be detached poster-fashion. The girl applying cosmetics to her neck appears (in black and white only, unfortunately) as plate 47. There is a variant version in which smears of the cosmetic appear and which seem, with oxidation of the pigment, to show her to have a dirty neck!

: Sorry for the long delay in replying, and I'm afraid that I cannot give you much help. Japanese prints seem to be rather popular among the producers of posters, and you often see a number of them in poster shops. But searching for a particular print is a totally different matter. I have looked around on the net, but I haven't been able to find the print that you are looking for. You may try the shops of some large museums specializing in oriental art, perhaps.

: : I was wondering if you knew where I might find Utamaro's
: : Girl Powdering Her Neck. Is it available in a poster
: : format? If so, how would I go about purchasing it. I
: : would like to give it as a birthday gift.

: : I would appreciate any assistance you could give. =)

: : Thank you,
