I have to disagree with Dr Illing on the dating of this print. Though the image is not good enough for me to be absolutely certain, I believe that the circular seal is in fact the combined aratame and date seal of 1859, and not one of the personal censor's seals that were used around 1845. I also believe that Kunisada did not start using this particular brand of signature (inside the toshidama seal) until a few years after 1845. But I may be mistaken.
