Dave:
I just saw your query and wonder whether you found out any additional detail.
I also have a triptich of three sumos titled "Sake Party under the Cherry Blossoms"
This was purchased in Tokyo in the early 1980s for Yen 158,000 at the
Kato Art Gallery. They are still around - telephone in Tokyo is 446-1530.
Randy
: I have a nice woodblock (Tri 714x350mm) by Kuniteru titled "Mitate Waka Sannin",
: and would like to no more about the artist or the print
: It is in excellent condition and it depicts three Sumo
: wrestlers eating dinner and drinking. I was told the
: three wrestlers were up and coming and yet to be famous.
: It's dated 1870, 4th month and published by Daikoku-ya
: Heiichi. If anyone knows about Kuniteru II or about this
: print please shed some insight.
: Sincerely
: Dave
