: is a copy of suikoden available with all the illustrations? I know it was translated into english early in the 1900s but am unaible to locate a copy. I am very interested in the ukiyoe of the 108 heroes. The artwork is my main focus but would love to read the text that goes along with it. any help would be appreciated.

Pearl Buck's translation (unillustrated) of the Chinese original of the Suikoden was first published in 1933 as 'All Men are Brothers'. Recently Inge Klompmakers has published illustrations of all Kuniyoshi's prints of the Suikoden with an accompanying scholarly text putting them in context as 'Of Brigands and Bravery' published, 1998 by Hotei Publishing, Breestraat 113a, 2311CL, Leiden, The Netherlands [e-mail ukiyo-e@xs4all.nl]
