On eBay and other websites I have seen maybe 15-20 prints with S M Shiba's guarantee of genuineness over the last few years. Among them there was at least one very obvious case of mistaken artist identity, as well as a number of other peculiarities. Anyone can make mistakes, but putting a seal of guarantee on them doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

In this case, however, you can probably assume that the designer of the print was Kunisada (1786-1864). Incidentally, the years given by S M Shiba usually seem to refer to the period when the artist was active, not his lifetime. But if you want to be sure, you should post an image of your print.
