I recently purchased a woodblock print of Hokusai's "Red Fuji" that I found while on a trip to Mashiko, north of Tokyo. It was in a frame that had not been opened for some time and based on the price I assumed it was a "copy". However, after opening the frame and examining the print, I noticed a publisher's seal in the lower right corner; and when comparing the lines with book photos, it looks to be identical. Are there are any easy tests to determine if it is a copy or an original? If not can you recommend someone who might be able to give me their opinion?
