Might I also add that you should take every opportunity you can to see (in person) as many prints as possible.

Go to galleries, exhibitions, museums, auctions, anywhere where prints are on display and look 'em over real well. Get a feel for what it means when a print is described as an "early" or "late" impression. What good registration and printing technique look like. What toning, foxing and fading really look like. What artists you find interesting or not. And, yeah, what they're selling for.

It's really helpful to get as much exposure to prints as you can so you can evaluate them for yourself.

I've been doing that for 7 or 8 years now and, while I'm probably not anyone's idea of an expert, at least I know what I like.
