I and some of my friends have recently encountered several Hasui, Koson and so on with the 6 mm 1950s also 7 mm as well as posthumous printings with removed copyright seals as well as some which never seem to have had any copyright seals. The common denominator for these prints is they have carried an interpolated earlier lengthy copyright seals in the margins (commonly referred to as A-G seals).

Also if the person responsible for this abuse (or knowingly distribute these prints) is reading this I would like to point out that this practice constitute possible forgery, fraud and maybe conspiracy charges. Law enforcement authorities tend to take a very serious view on this sort of matter.

If anybody find or see such prints, please report it to me. Use this e-mail japanologica@yahoo.com.

All shin hanga collectors out there "chin up", this is still rare. But if it looks to good to be true, it often is.

Please also discuss this issue on this board.
