Your date of 1911 is probably the date of birth, if we're talking about the same artist. He's listed in several books, which include the following information:

Yoshitaka Nakao
Born in Ehime Prefecture in 1911.
Largely a self-taught printmaker, although also studied with Azechi Umetarô.
Received awards from the 'Kokugakai' (National Picture Assn.) in 1949 & 1956.
Produced cement-block prints, woodcuts, lithographs; often used oil-based inks in woodblocks.
Some prints published by the Graphic Art Society of New York in the 1960s.
