Thank you very much.

I think you are right this is probably the same person as the water colour artist.

I have already sold the print so I can't compare the signatures.

I have owned a couple of water colours signed Terauchi, but over the last 35 years I have seen many. He must have been very prolific.

I am sure you are right. This is not by Terauchi Manjiro. This print is far removed from any works or styles of which I have seen by Terauchi Manjiro.

Although it seems as Kyoto hanga in published prints by some of the foremost artists in Japan of the period, not only the more obscure and lesser known artists which we usually associates with this publisher.

Do any of the readers have any further information about the Terauchi who was published by Kyoto hanga in?

: Anders,

: The signature on that print reads Terauchi. It is shown on page 186 of Sandra Andacht's "Collector's Value Guide to Japanese Woodblock Prints". Ms Andacht attributes this print to Manjiro Terauchi, but I think that she is incorrect. There was another artist who used that name, although I haven't got his first name.

: I have several watercolors similarly signed. They are competent work, but not the master work that would be expected from Manjiro Terauchi.

: Marc

: : I have a print which is probably signed “Tanauchi” (?) in white, western writing, published by Kyoto hanga in.

: : The print depicts a sailboat. It seems to be sort of a typical 1950s shin hanga, printed on paper and with colorants of the period.

: : Can somebody please help with further information.
