Hi Jennifer,

You have a print of Prince Genji by Kunisada II, likely one of a triptych. It's pretty much in the late style of Kunisada I (when he was signing Toyokuni) but maybe you're more used to seeing his more plentiful actor prints.

I couldn't read the date seal, but prints made after 1844 (which this clearly is) and signed Kunisada are by not Kunisada I. The date is probably 1850s or early 1860s. If you could scan the date seal closely, we could give you the exact date.

: I appologize in advance for my ignorance on this subject but I was hoping someone would be able to help in identifing this print. I thought the signiture looked like Kunisada but the print doesn't look like any of his I've seen posted. My local library has zilch on Japanese art. I've tried to provide links to two photos. Can you tell who and when this was done?
