Noel,
The format and style suggest Moronobu's Bijin ezukushi 'A collection of beautiful women' of Tenna 3 (1683). See illustrations in my 'Japanese prints from 1700 to 1900' Phaidon, 1976 Plate 2 and Howard Link's 'Primitive Ukiyo-e', Honolulu, 1980 p.4., that also lists ten plates from it in the Michener collection. Mrs Brown states that this was a single volume book.
