What is the meaning of the various signatures you find on prints?
On my ukiyo-e I find: witin the print 1./ A poem upper right corner in white field and behind this white field another field in red with kanji letters, and still within the print 2./ two vertical stamps in whtie and red. Outside of the printframe there is on left side a stamp in white and on right side two stamps in kanji (looks like a comment rahter than just a name stamp or seal).
Question I have : Are all these stamps and poems of the producer, or of various people (producer, literate, owners?). And if so, is there a rule to define in general which stamp can be attributed to producer, oweners etc.?? Thanks.
