This is the 43rd in a 1852 chuban series Ima Genji nishiki-e awase 'A ukiyo-e comparison of Genji'. The whole series can be found on Horst Graebner's useful site http://www.kunisada.de/Kunisada-1852/genji-1852/genji-1852-Serie183-0.htm. You can find it yourself by going to Hans Olaf's 'Guide' and 'Kunisada project' in the Kunisada site. The Genji chapter title Kobai is usually rendered as 'Rose plum' whose blossom and scent feature in the text and which can be seen beyond the verandah in the print.
Regards, Dick
