Hi Valerie,

The warrior prints are from a set entitled "100 Selected Master of the Warrior Arts" by Utagawa Yoshitora. Is this a book? It looks fun.

The kachoe is signed Hiroshige I believe, but is clearly not Hiroshige I. I don't know this area so well, but I'd guess Hiroshige II. Maybe someone else can confirm or correct.

: From the extra scans you sent, I can tell you that this is an Eirakuya Toshiro edition of the Manga, printed in Nagoya in the Edo Period, but not an early printing. If you can find a copy, look for Matthi Forrer's "Eirakuya Toshiro, Publisher at Nagoya". You might be able to date the edition more accurately with this book. I'd guess roughly 1850s, but that is a guess.

: : can anybody give me an approximate date of edition for my set of hokusai manga prints?
: : I also have some other prints but don't know who the authors might be; can anyone throw some light on the matter?
