: We at the QUT Art Museum have been gifted 3 Ukiyo-e after a recent show we put on here, 2 of which are by Toshihide Migata. The works have been identified as from The Heroes and 36 Famous Poems series. However there is scant biographical information on the artist. Does anyone know where in Japan his studio was and where his place of birth was?
: About the series itself. We have 4 works, they have been executed over a two year period that I'm aware of so far 1893-95. Can anyone shed light on the series or know where I can obtain translations of our as yet unread poems on Taira no Sadmori, Minamoto Yorimitsu, Hatakeyama Shigetada and Kusunoki Masashige. I have searched high and low and had translators attempt it to no avail. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
