: Hello,
: Can anyone tell me what are currently considered the best ways of sterilizing prints and books.
: a) Known to be infested with active fungi.
: b) Suspected to carry dormant infection.
: If this is something that should never be done at home, are there suitable facilities available for sterilizing relatively low value items at an affordable cost? In case a) doing nothing seems unlikely to be the best option.

: Is microwave heating an option? If so, what should be the target temperature?

: Apart from careful dusting, are there any cleaning methods that can be carried out non-professionally on relatively low value prints (black ink only or coloured) to reduce the marks made by fungi after they have been killed?

: Is it best to rely on dry conditions and regular checking to prevent reinfection, or are there other preventative measures that can or should be taken?
chlorine and bleach will remove fungus and mildew but then you dont want to do that on prints.
strong sun lite works but bad news for print.
try taking them to a casino, they have strong air cleaner.
