Recently, I encountered a "hashira-e" print that was signed by Banki (Koikawa Harumasa) - late 1790 - early 1800's.
This print had a very elegant design that to my opinion equals Utamaro's best work in this format.
It is hard to find some good information or documentation regarding this artist; is there anything available on the net? His work seems to be rare.
Is it correct,to consider him solely as an notable imitator of Utamaro (dixit Richard Lane)?

Guy.
