Hi Theo,

A similar scene can be found in print #37 of Kuniyoshi's Taiheiki Eiyuden, which revolves around the late 16thC conflict between Nobunaga and Hideyoshi. The subject of the print, however, isn't Hideyoshi, but his retainer, Horio Mosuke Yoshiharu, who gained fame and was subsequently brought into Hideyoshi's service after defeating the boar in his youth. In the Taiheiki print he is shown subduing the boar with his bare hands instead of a sword, but the composition is the same.
