You are in a great city for viewing ukiyoe. New Yorkers will no doubt have additions to this short list which is in part compiled from Frank Whitford's "Japanese Prints and Western Painters" published in 1977. Whitford lists all important US and European public collections which I reproduced in Chats on Japanese Prints (Shogun Gallery) which can be accessed from this web page (at top)

From Whitford for NYC:

Andrew White Museum of Art, Cornell University
Brooklyn Museum
Cooper Union Museum
Metropolitan Museum of Art
New York Public Library

Also:

Ronin Gallery (website)
Donald Keene Center for Japanese Art, Colombia University (website)

However, you should check with the individual sites to see if they are displaying prints since colors fade rapidly (see John Fiorillo’s Viewing Japanese Prints – accessed from top of this webpage).
