Thank-you for your excellent list of references. Several are new to me and I can only add a little to it:
The Bartlett reference is actually by H H Bartlett and H Shohara. It can also be found as The Asa Gray Bulletin New Series vol 3. It is a detailed exhibition catalogue with extended introduction and about 100 illustrations. It is the best reference for Edo and early Meiji books with flower illustrations.
There are two recently published large catalogues of library collections:
1. H Kerlen (1996) Catalogue of Pre-Meiji Japanese Books and Maps in Public Collections in the Netherlands.
2. (2000) Japanese Illustrated Books and Manuscripts from the National Gallery in Prague.
