If indeed the book is 17th century (did they have color ehons in the 1600s with that series? )the book seems very reasonably priced to me despite a few worm tracks. Although for all i know it could be 20th century in which case it would be expensive. The only problem with ebay is that you have to trust the person who is selling the item and sellers who haven't sold a lot of items don't yet have a track record. I am primarily interested in just a few original classic ehons, and if i did buy a couple of those, it would be in fine condition years from now. I am not so knowledgeable on prices and ehon dealers, but i like:
Chobunsai Eishii The thirty-six Immortal Poetesses in Brocade Prints, Kitagawa Utamaro Picture-book of the Green Houses: Events throughout the Year,Kitao Shigmasa and Katsukawa Shunsho A Mirror of the Forms of Rival Beauties of the Green House, Shunsho One Hundred Poets in Brocade Woven in the East (Edo). I mainly collect prints but might consider a few ehons in my collection. thanks for the info.
