: The best reference work on Japanese 20th century prints, that I have in my own library, is Helen Merritt's and Nanako Yamada's Guide to Modern Japanese Woodblock Prints: 1900-1975 (University of Hawaii Press 1992, paperback edition 1995).

: I also believe that The New Wave, edited by Amy Reigle Stephens (London 1992) is a very useful source of information, though I have never seen it. It is out of print and rather difficult to find, but I believe it is well worth looking for.

I know some copies of The New Wave are available from "Ukiyo-e Books" in Leiden, The Netherlands
