Dear Cathy Shelton,
Just tripped over your Hiroshige print: "Enjoying the evening cool at Shijo in Kyoto" (Kyoto Shijo yusuzumi)
Designer: Utagawa Hiroshige II
Publisher: Uoya Eikichi
Date: 1859
Series: A 100 Views of Famous places in Various Provinces
-----------------------------
You'll find an image in the Catalogue of the Van Gogh Museum's Collection of Japanese Prints on page 105.
----------------------------
Although Hiroshige II has always been placed into the shadow of his master, he made some very good designs to. I'm not specialized in Hiroshige II, but I know some collectors are gladly willing to pay serious prices for one of his better prints. And I think yours is probably one of them. But ... only if it's an early edition with the right (evening) colours!!!
Your sincerly, Theo de Kreijger
