David,

This series of 64 prints honouring Edo firemen was designed by Utagawa Yoshitora between 1858-59.
The series title is 'Edo no haneko domo asobi' (The flowers of Edo Children Amusement).
The print here shows a fireman of the first squad ('ichibangumi') from the 'Man' division.

The complete series can be viewed in the db of the National Diet Library:
http://rarebook.ndl.go.jp/pre/servlet/pre_com_menu.jsp (search for : 江戸の花子供遊び).

According to the NDL, the publisher is Hirokaya (probably Hirokaya Kosuke) but I'm not sure of that because I read the name in the publisher's mark as 'Iseyoshi'(イセ芳).

Cheers,
Guy.
