Hi Mr. Chiappa: Yes, I'm familiar with Mr. Fiorillo's site and with your extensive, very helpful comments on this site. I was thinking more along the lines of the following (in summary): 1) Why now is a great time to start a collection; 2) Where to start (artists; genres), and also originals (if you have $$$) versus quality re-prints (great for entry-level collectors), versus reproductions (no!); 3) Look, look, look - no substitute for looking at thousands of designs, and (when possible) at the papers, seals, verso, etc.; 4) Don't worry if you can't read Japanese; 5) Find good prints at good prices (I generally agree with prior commenter about eBay, but there are other avenues [I am not a dealer, nor do I endorse particular dealers]). Just a few thoughts from a lot of recent looking and reading that may help other beginners.
