_Without practice_, you're more likely to cause damage. For any procedure involving woodblock prints (for example, removing backings), you really need to practice first on fairly worthless prints, because you _will_ make some mistakes. (Trust me, I learned the hard way, about removing backings.)
There is a book:
Carl Schraubstadter, "Care and Repair of Japanese Prints"
which covers repairing worm-holes (in Chapter V).
However, like I said, I don't advise your trying to do so to this print - especially the Kiyotsune, which may well be the only copy of that print left in the world!
