Hi,
the print is signed ’Gototei Kunisada ga’ and depicts the actor Nakamura Utaemon IV, who used the name Shikan (II) from 1825 to 1835 and started to act in Edo in 1828. Stylisticly I date the print to around 1830, publisher of the print is Omiya Heihachi.
For series title and ’role’ see the post by sato (whereby the series title also can be translated as ’Nakamura Shikan (II) in four variations’). The ’ Traveling of the wife in Shinoda’ could be Kuzunoha played by Shikan II in ’Shinoda nomori uwasa no yomeiri’ performed at the Nakamura theatre in 9/1831.
Btw: Kunisada used the ’go’ Gototei on nearly all his kabuki prints published between 1810 and 1841, less than 50 out of around 3000 are signed ’Kōchōrō’.
