This book, “Japanese Woodblock Prints: Artists, Publishers and Masterworks: 1680 - 1900“, is a very good book for beginners (and a nice one for advanced collectors). It’s lavishly illustrated and provides lots of informations on important print designers and the most important publishing houses but it doesn’t include the publishers seals and marks, so it isn’t the light (and much cheaper) version.
