Just got the new reference book by Andreas Marks to look up the publisher's mark with the character "Tō" and it turns out that this series is by Utamaro II... . The publisher is Yamashiroya Tōemon (c. 1807-17 - firm name Rakutōsha)(book ref 01-605) issued c. 1810s.
A good investment.
