Hi,

I've posted images (see below URL) of two prints and associated signatures from the series Brocade Pictures for Moral Education which are attributed to Toshichika and Toshishige. This series of prints, issued in multiple volumes for instructing students in shûshin (moral education)in the 1880s, seems to have been drawn by artists from Yoshitoshi's studio. I have two questions: Are the prints correctly attributed to Toshishige and Toshichika and does anyone have information on either of these artists? Noel Chiappa's Yoshitoshi website has an entry for these artists but little information. The Hotei Encyclopedia lists a Tominaga Toschichika (1847-c.1887)but provides not other info on him and no entry for a Toshishige. Roberts, A Dictionary of Japanese Artists does not have an entry for either artist.

Help would be appreciated.
