Sorry to jump in here, as I wasn't involved in the original discussion of these prints, but looking at them, wouldn't it make more sense that they would be images of the major festivals instead of the four seasons? Has this already been considered and rejected? I see Tanabata, Hina matsuri, Iris festival, and Chrysanthemum festival. I believe traditionally there are five, so you would be missing one (New Year) if there was only one print per festival.

Also, are you staying through the beginning of April? There is a BIG Sharaku exhibition at the Tokyo National Museum beginning early April. Not to be missed if you're in town.
