"Any feedback would be appreciated."

Here are some comments (and please, don't take this as complaint - this is all intended to be constructive suggestions for improvements - that's a sizeable collection, and represents a great resource).

I wonder if the presentation format will be maximally useful (especially for beginners)?

For one, with all the signatures on one page, it took a while for the page to load. The solution to that, however, ties in nicely with another comment, which is that with so many, a beginner would have a lot of things to look at, to find the matching signature.

How about a structure where the main page contains a table of the first characters of the artists' names (one could supply a number of samples of each character, from various artists who share that name, to give people a sense of the range of how that character can look); then there would be, at each initial character, a link to a separate page for that initial character, which contains all the signatures with that first character?

That would kill both of the issues I mentioned (i.e. long load times, and so many signatures to look through).

You could have a short intro which shows people how to find the artist's name on the print (that is, where on the prints to look for signatures, and where in the signature the art-name (go) is - for example, what 'ga' and 'hitsu' look like, and how the signature is usually just above them, etc, etc.)

I hope this is useful!

Noel
