To anwer your question on info about Eizan. Not much is published on Eizan in English (or others western languages).
The is a limited biographical entry in 'Japanese woodblock prints. Artists, publishers and masterworks, 1680-1900' by Andrew Marks (2010)and also John Fiorillo's article in Andon 71 (Society of Japanese Arts, 2002, 'Eizan: Putting on a new face A mirror of fűryű, asobi and iki'.

A recent reference book that can be recommended is 'Competition and Collaboration. Japanese Prints of the Utagawa School' by Laura Mueller (2007), an overview with biographical data on artists from that particular school.

Generaly spoken however, we lack in depth biografies or a catalogue raisonné of most of the major ukiyo-e artists in western languages.

Guy.
