To give people a better idea of what I'm thinking of, I took a draft version of the page I started a year or two back, and got it into reasonably good shape, and threw it up on the web here:

so you all can see what I'm thinking of. If people think this is a good idea, I will get my helper to scan in lot more names, and add them all, but I don't want to go to that work if I'm going to be duplicating something somewhere else.
For the moment, the individual actor names tables are all on the same page as the family names table (above). As the database gets larger, these will get split out to subsidiary pages, to speed up the page loading time on the main page.
