Both the Artelino and Alex' triptychs were published in 1878 (Meiji 11) and published by Kobayashi Tetsujirō (not listed in Marks!).

The Artelino triptych is listed in Keyes under #408 with the title translated there as "A chronology of rulers of Japan". Keyes gives the publication date 11th or 12th month 1878 but no publisher.

Alex' triptych is not listed in Keyes.

So, for some reason, Yoshitoshi designed two different triptychs with the same subject and the same title in 1878, commissioned by the same publisher Kobayashi Tesujirō.

Guy.
