Hi,
I am trying to read the date within a Hasegawa Tsunejirô publisher seal on a Nobukazu triptych "Illustration of the Japanese Red Cross Society General Meeting" 日本赤十字社總會之図. At first glance the date looks like Meiji 4 (1871), but this is impossible as the Japanese Red Cross Society was not yet founded. I believe the date of this print must be Meiji 40 or 41 (1907 or 1908) when the Society held large general membership meetings in Hibiya Park in Tokyo attended by the Empress, who is seen behind the purple window covering in the carriage. Confirmation of the date in the publisher's seal will be very much appreciated.
