One of ukiyo-e's many pleasures is finding a bargain print at an unusual place, such as a thrift store, general-goods auction, or yard sale. When I find prints in these locations, I wonder about the journeys they took. Reminds me of ukiyo-e's supposed introduction into Europe as wrapping for dishes. Anyone have any stories of finds in unusual places, or in a print's untypical journey to its present location in your collection?
