The book from Collia-Suzuki compounded with Shibui and Asano/Clark is a good basic, when you are interest in Utamaro. Especially Collia-Suzuki made a good job. I think, around 1890 were made a many good pictures after original woodblock prints. In the moment I research Hokusai. There are too much faked Hokusais in honorable museums, as you mean. And he was not the only artist, who was faked.
