"The Hiroshige online catalog raisonne site page for this series:

http://www.hiroshige.org.uk/hiroshige/tokaido_kyoka/tokaido_kyoka.htm

is missing this station"

Not quite sure why I thought this one was missing - looking at the page now, they are all there. (Maybe I got faked out by the small screen on the laptop I used to look at the page?)

"It is a fairly rare series (as evidenced by the missing images on that page)"

So they aren't _that_ rare! To try and get a more quantitative reading for you, I looked in an online database I have of print sales at a major dealer in London; for one large group of sales, there were three prints from Hiroshige's so-called 'Gyosho' Tokaido, and only from the 'Kyoka' Tokaido. Also, I checked with someone who has access to a good-sized Hiroshige collecton; of the chuban-sized Tokaido series, it has 5 from the so-called 'Figure' Tokaido, 3 from the 'Kyoka' Tokaido, and 17 from the 'Kichizo' Tokaido. (To cross-reference to the other check, they have 6 prints from the 'Gyosho' Tokaido.)

So it does seem to be fairly rare.

Noel
