this one is onr i'm sure we've all seen 100x.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/76252451@N00/10278963294/ see 4 pix of rakusan work. it's large - slightly over 14" x 18"
an intriguing print, famed and, once unframed, the damn thing is glued to obliteration to some absurdly cheap cardboard backing.
since this one is a bit older, it's tough to say whether this is some kind of double-sided tape or a contact paper of some kind, but whatever the adhesive is, it is flaking away. not without a struggle.
i wasn't as careful as i should have been but the rips are, ultimately, repairable.
my question is: is it worth it?
my cost was about $70. my time to get this far is about 2 hours. time remaining to remove the balance of the adhesive: 2 more hours.
method i plan on using to repair the rips: acid free spary glue dabbed on by q-tip.
