Hello, I recently inherited a Ukiyo-e print from a relative that collected Asian art. I am a novice appreciator, but managed to track down the signature to Utagawa II Hiroshige, and the image to a view of the monkey bridge (not the famous one) from one in the MFA Boston's collection. Mine does not seem to have any of the red seals of publishers, etc., that the other one has. What could be some reasons for not seeing a publishers seal? How might my print differ because of this reason? Sorry if this question reflects inexperience…but that is exactly what I am in this subject. Also, what are some good avenues of authentication, if necessary? Thanks!
