The first character is 白, which has readings 'HAKU/shira/shiro'. A quick dip into Merritt and Yamada, "Modern Japanese Woodblock Prints" show three artists who use that character in their names (all with the 'HAKU' reading) but none of them have a second character which looks like the second character here (which I cannot, alas, identify).

A larger image of the seal might help.
