This is a benizuri-e in hosoban format, designed by Torii Kiyomitsu (1735-85) depicting two kabuki actors in a love scene under an umbrella. The actor crest at the left on the umbrella refers to an Ichikawa actor; the crest on the right refers to Nakamura Matsue (act. 1761-85).

The print is signed 'Torii Kiyomitsu hitsu', with seal 'Kiyomitsu'. The publisher's seal couldn't be saved by the restoration. Early 1760s.

Guy.
