This print by Kunisada shows the Kabuki actors Ichikawa Danjuro VII (standing, right) in the role of Kiba no Bunzo, and Segawa Roko IV (seated)as Otsuru. (The writing before the name 'Otsuru' is rubbed so I can't read it, but the 'Kabuki Nendaiki' records that the character was the wife of Yohe.) The play was called 'Iro Ichiza Ume Toshiratama', and it was performed at the Ichimura-za theatre in the 1st month of 1812. The large oval seal (middle right) is that of the censor Iwatoya Kisaburo, which was used in 1812.
