This is a 'Nagasaki-e' or 'Nagasaki-hanga' (Nagasaki print), published late 1850s. The print is not signed and bears only a publisher's mark (not identified). The vertical inscription reads 'Amerkajin zu' ('depiction of an American', presuming that the last character is an older variant of 'zu' or 圖).

From 1859 on, the port of Yokohama became the center of international trade, at the expense of Nagasaki.
