Hi MagicSteph,

Your pillar print with the 5 story pagoda in it shows every indication of being a legitimate Shotei print. I would like to investigate a bit further and probably add it to my catalog. Please email me at to continue this discussion.

Your variant print of O-41 and M-21, marked #219 on the verso side, has a seal which reads "Hazuki". At the top of my variants page, I have explained the criteria used to validate Shotei variant prints. "Hazuki" is not an art name known to have been used by Takahashi Shotei. Your musings about his possible motivations for using other names are interesting, but I disagree with them. I can't be adding prints to the only comprehensive catalog of Shotei prints based upon someone else's musings. I stand by my classification of your print as a derivative plagiarized knock-off.
