Hiroshige painting

The attached Hiroshige painting from my collection has the marks at the top right and left from being framed in a gabled votive frame at some time early in its life. I notice that there are other paintings in the British Museum by Hiroshige and his pupils, that were also used for votive frames and always of the same dimensions. Would this have been a particular commission for a shrine or temple? or was it a general format that Hiroshige and his studio would have produced? Thank You
