The original scroll paintings by noted Japanese woodblock artists of the 18th - 19th centuries are very scarce and valuable. For many of the reasons you have pointed out in the above.

The forum really is about woodblock prints, so the paintings are an uncommon subject, and receive less attention

Plentiful in reproduction and imitation, but very hard to find in the original, it's not something that one would come across casually in the semi-formal art-collection market. Perhaps auction houses, or high-end reputable dealers
